UniMed First Aid recognises its responsibility to the community as a first aid service provider. We recognise that the community holds basic expectations about the way its members should be treated by a professional health service. We also recognise the value of our members as providing our most important resources in facilitating our community service activities.

As such, each member of the community can expect UniMed First Aid and its members to:

  • Treat them with respect and courtesy
  • Recognise the diversity of our community and provide unbiased and culturally sensitive services
  • To act as a "patient advocate" being focused on their needs both medically and otherwise
  • Provide the best possible first aid care within member's scope of practice
  • Provide first aid and health services coverage of events to best practice standards
  • Provide high quality training services to assist the community to be more self sufficient in emergencies
  • Provide education and support to the community to increase the awareness of first aid and its value to the community

UniMed members can expect UniMed First Aid as an organisation to:
  • Be focused on their needs as volunteers and members of a service organisation
  • Be focused on their personal development
  • Provide high quality training and supervision to facilitate their provision of service to the community
  • Provide modern management systems which will allow a flexible but directed framework in which to provide service to the community
