Mission Statement
UniMed First Aid has as its mission the promotion and provision of first aid and out of hospital care to the community.
Within this context, UniMed First Aid has as its main objectives:
The provision of quality and accessible first aid, health, safety and medical services to the community, principally in the out of hospital arena
The provision of education to the community with a view to empowering the community to protect itself and cope with emergency and crisis with a view to reducing the impact of illness and injury on the community
The promotion of first aid and out of hospital care including advocacy, research, and such activities and projects that will raise the awareness of emergency care and promote its aims
The provision of development opportunities to members of UniMed First Aid, including training, practical experience, and an environment which fosters personal growth
The prevention and mitigation of suffering, disease and mortality as a result of illness and injury in the community including such programs and activities as will directly mitigate such suffering and support communities to assist themselves in such situations
Vision Statement
Through training, skill, leadership and commitment to community service, UniMed First Aid strives to provide best practice in the provision and training of care to the suddenly ill or injured in the community.
